Cornerstone is a multi-year strategic initiative to transform the administrative and student information systems and processes for Rutgers University.
Scarlet Journey/Common App
On August 1 Common App launched for academic year (AY) 2024-2025 first-year, full-time undergraduate applicants! As expected, there has been an increased volume of in-process and submitted applications. The team continues to review applicant data from Common App to ensure successful integration with the Salesforce Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) platform.
The Salesforce application for AY 2024-2025 also launched on August 1 for undergraduate and graduate students (with the exception of Medical, Dental, and Law Schools). This cycle includes updates to align with Common App, system enhancements, and the integration of undergraduate transfer students from the School of Health Professions.
HR/Payroll Transformation
The project team completed business process reviews (BPRs) for systems and technical requirements for the January 2025 Phase 1 launch. The initial configuration of the system will start in early fall.
Functional BPR sessions have commenced and will include reviews of current processes, issues, and potential opportunities for automation and improvements in many areas, such as workforce planning and administration, time and labor, and payroll. Representatives from Chancellor-led units and central administration (Human Resources, Payroll Services, Institutional Planning & Operations, Division of Continuing Studies, Office of Information Technology, etc.) actively participate in these sessions. Based on participant feedback, the project team developed an overall functional BPR prework and feedback process to streamline this effort. Final draft documentation will be shared with all participants and their team members for additional review and input.
The change management strategy is finalized, and communication is ongoing. The formation of a change agent network to drive awareness and adoption of the project is targeted for September.
Chart of Accounts (COA)
The Chart of Accounts Phase 2 project team provided department hierarchies to the HR/Payroll Transformation team and will collaborate on next steps. The team is preparing guidance on the Activity segment, programs, and unrestricted funds projects which will be provided in September. The project team also reviewed comparative reporting options with the project sponsors and discussed the next steps.
Thank you for your continued support.
