Refreshed Training Initiative

Dear Rutgers Colleagues –

We are pleased to announce the launch of the refreshed Cornerstone training initiative. This effort involves a redesign of our strategy to be more focused on your training and support needs, and to bring more consistency to the way training is offered to the university community.

The goal of the refresh is to improve and expand training courses for budgeting and financial planning, expense management, financial management, grant and contract accounting, payroll, and procurement. Our approach to address near- and long-term needs for schools, departments and units across all campuses consists of:

  • Reviewing and updating content and job aids for existing training courses;
  • Creating three levels of training courses and providing clear descriptions of the courses and intended learners for all levels;
  • Developing new courses to support basic use and understanding of the systems and supporting processes;
  • Delivering more classroom sessions with hands on activities, and learning labs, to bring real world examples into the learning experience.

We recognize there is limited space available in the November and December sessions. Beginning in January 2018, we will increase the frequency of courses, as needed, based on needs and demand.

To sign up for classes, please log on to the Cornerstone registration site. If the session you want to attend is full, please complete registration so that you can be added to the wait list for that course. Website updates and additional communications from the project teams will follow as more details on course offerings and registration become available.
